13 Firefighters Tackle Fire in Jelambar

As many as 13 fire trucks successfully extinguished a fire in a densely populated residential area on Jalan Satria IV, RT 10/04, Jelambar Urban Village, Grogol Petamburan District, West Jakarta. Although the fire did not result in any fatalities or serious injuries, it destroyed the homes of two families.

Head Section of Operation for West Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency, Ahmad Syaiful said his team received information about the incident at around 7:06 AM from residents who reported it to the Duta Mas Fire Station. He immediately deployed officers to administer the initial response.

Fire Burns Five Houses in Cengkareng Extinguished

"We deployed six firefighting units with a strength of 30 personnel in the first phase. Then, in the second phase, seven firefighting units with a strength of 35 personnel," he said, Friday (6/19).

When the first officers arrived at the scene at around 7:13 AM, the fire had already spread. Upon finding this, officers immediately took action.

"After more than 20 minutes of handling, the fire was brought under control and the extinguishing process entered the cooling phase around 7:38 AM. The extinguishing process was declared complete around 8:20 AM," he added.

The fire at the location did not result in any fatalities or serious injuries. The fire affected an area of ​​approximately 120 square meters.

"Temporary data shows that there are two families with 12 people affected," he continued.

Head of Jelambar Urban Village, Pradista Machdala Putra said his side has submitted a letter requesting emergency response assistance to the West Jakarta Social Services Sub-agency and other relevant agencies.

Pradista hopes that with this fire incident, residents will be more careful when using electrical installations.

"Initial suspicion is that the incident was triggered by an electrical short circuit," he admitted.
